Aristocrat Leisure has confirmed the appointment of Michael Rumbolz as a Non-Executive Director after receiving the necessary regulatory pre-approval. The approval completes a process that began with his nomination earlier this year.
The supplier announced that Rumbolz officially joined the Board on 4 August, having originally been nominated on 13 May with an intended commencement date of 1 July. His appointment had remained subject to regulatory clearance, which has now been secured.
Rumbolz will serve as a Non-Executive Director immediately and, in accordance with corporate governance requirements, will stand for election by shareholders at Aristocrat's 2027 Annual General Meeting.
He brings more than 45 years of experience across the global gaming industry, having held leadership positions including Chairman, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at five publicly listed companies.
His experience spans casino development, construction, hotel and casino operations, lotteries, slot route operations, gaming equipment manufacturing and distribution, as well as gaming legislation and regulation. Throughout his career, he has also advised businesses and governments on regulatory frameworks in established and emerging gaming markets across North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
The confirmation of Rumbolz's appointment comes during an active period for Aristocrat.
Last week, Aristocrat Interactive launched its first full-service iLottery platform with the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission, marking the supplier's first complete iLottery deployment.
The five-year agreement, which includes an option for a three-year extension, provides the Massachusetts lottery with a comprehensive online lottery platform featuring player account management, draw games technology, business intelligence tools, responsible gameplay solutions, customer relationship management and compliance services.
With Rumbolz now officially joining the Board, Aristocrat further strengthens its leadership with an executive whose experience covers both traditional land-based gaming and broader industry regulation across multiple jurisdictions.
Rumbolz was first nominated for the Board in May, with his appointment subject to regulatory approval before taking effect
