The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has reported the state’s total gaming activity for January 2026, as revenue fell 6.6% to $1.4bn during the period and represents the second consecutive month in which gaming revenue decreased year-over-year.
During January 2026, revenue from the state’s Clark Country area decreased 8.4% to nearly $1.2bn, including an 11% decrease in gaming revenue from the Las Vegas Strip which totaled $747.7m for the monthly period.
Las Vegas continues to struggle with lower amounts of visitation, most notably from international guests, which has seemingly taken effect on the state’s overall gaming figures, given the 6.6% decrease for January and the 1.6% fall witnessed during December 2025.
Gaming revenue stemming from Downtown Las Vegas decreased 5.2% for a total of $79.4m, while Boulder Strip revenue fell 7% to $81.2m.
North Las Vegas and Mesquite were able to produce increases in revenue for January 2026, however, rising 4.8% and 14.1%, respectively, to $25m and $19.8m.
The state’s Washoe County area drove $93.9m of revenue during January 2026 and increased 4.2%, including $69m from operations in Reno which grew 2.9%. The Sparks area accounted for nearly $15m of Nevada’s total revenue for January 2026, equating to growth of 10.5%.
South Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valley Area reported respective January 2026 revenues $24.6m and $11.5m, equating to increases of 10.3% and 3.2% from the prior year period.
Elko County increased gaming revenue by 12.9% during January 2026 to $36.9m, including $25.7m from the Wendover area which rose 14.7%.
Slot machine revenue in Nevada climbed 0.5% to $919.8m during January 2026, while table game revenue decreased 18.9% to $425.4m.
Multi-denomination slot machines were the only type to witness an increase in revenue year-over-year for January 2026, rising 10.3% to $724.7m. Baccarat accounted for $123.3m of table game revenue in Nevada, but decreased 42.7% during January 2026.
On February 27, Caesars Entertainment confirmed it was reviewing takeover interest from multiple parties, including a potential approach from Tilman Fertitta. In full-year 2025, Caesars reported a net loss of $502m, despite a modest 2.4% increase in revenue to $11.5bn.
The NGCB filed a civil enforcement action against Kalshi in Carson City District Court on February 17, requesting a declaration and injunction to prohibit the operator from offering ‘unlicensed wagering’
