ABC-Bet, the Brazilian Association for Compliance, Best Practices, Ethics and Transparency in Betting, has appointed Thiago Iusim to its Responsible Gaming Committee, strengthening the association’s technical approach to player protection in Brazil.
Iusim joins psychologists Marli Arruda and Rafael Ávila, both experienced in the field of gambling behavior and responsible gaming.
Founder and CEO of Betshield Responsible Gaming, Iusim brings a technology-focused perspective to the committee. Betshield develops solutions aimed at identifying risky behavior and supporting player protection in digital betting environments.
ABC-Bet said: “The presence of experts from different areas reinforces ABC-Bet's commitment to promoting a regulated environment based on ethics, transparency, and protection for bettors.
“The integration of clinical knowledge, behavioral analysis, and technological tools expands the sector's ability to identify risk patterns and adopt preventive measures more efficiently.”
Commenting on his appointment, Iusim said that “technology and behavior need to move together. Detecting signs of risk earlier is the path to protecting players and strengthening the sector.”
“The discussion around responsible gaming is evolving quickly. I hope to contribute by bringing the perspective of how technology can support this progress and strengthen user protection within the sector,” added Iusim.
Industry figure Amilton Noble, also part of ABC-Bet, also welcomed the development. Noble was recently named advisory partner at Betshield.
ABC-Bet said the addition of Iusim further strengthens the committee as a forum for technical debate and the development of best practices supporting the sustainable evolution of Brazil’s industry.
ABC-Bet recently called for a balanced public debate around proposals to ban betting advertising in Brazil
