Finland’s state-owned gambling company Veikkaus is sponsoring the Finnish Floorball Federation.
The agreement is relatively short, running only until the end of 2026, and covers the World Championships, which will begin on 5 December in Tampere.
For the Floorball Federation, the partnership provides financial support ahead of the tournament.
Ville-Mikko Korkka, Executive Director of the Floorball Federation, stated: “We are grateful for the trust and proud that Veikkaus is returning as a partner, especially as the main partner for the home World Championships.
“Veikkaus is a responsible gambling company and a contributor to social value. We will work with Veikkaus on an excellent joint project during the tournament.”
Veikkaus is not new to floorball sponsorship. Over the years, it has supported the sport in various ways, including national teams, leagues and major tournaments.
Reija Airas, Chief People Officer and EVP, People, Culture & Communications at Veikkaus, stated: “The floorball men wrote a wonderful, golden story at the last World Championships,
“and we are now looking for a sequel to it in Tampere at the end of the year. It's great to be able to be part of the journey.”
Last year, the Floorball sports leagues were under investigation in Finland for suspicious betting activity.
Finnish Floorball Federation’s Competition and Disciplinary Committee (KKR) issued 80 competition bans linked to widespread betting rule breaches between 2021 and 2025.
However, in December 2025, Veikkaus confirmed that floorball returned to its betting offering following the conclusion of a disciplinary process.
