In an effort to expand upon traditional over/under sports wagers, Fanatics Sportsbook has launched its new Squad Bets parlay offering, where users can combine players across the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and major soccer events to achieve a target score for the bet to hit.
Fanatics Sportsbook users can bet on markets such as assists in the NBA, strikeouts for professional baseball or shots in major soccer competitions.
The group of three-to-six players must achieve the predetermined target score for any winnings to be paid out, such as combining for 100 points or totaling 10 shots on goal.
“Squad Bets introduces a fundamentally new way to parlay," Fanatics Sportsbook SVP of Brand Marketing Michael Fitzsimmons said.
"By shifting the focus from individual legs to collective squad achievement, Squad Bets delivers a more personalized betting experience and one that mirrors how fans experience sports."
The operator is also set to unveil a new digital short campaign – titled The GM Era – to help promote the Squad Bets feature, which is currently available in “most states” and will soon launch in New Jersey and North Carolina.
The GM Era short film stars actor Luke Manley, who recently gained acclaim for his role in the film Marty Supreme.
Within the short, Manley’s relationship with sports alters once he is introduced to the Squad Bets feature, helping users gain a better understanding of the new parlay offering.
“Awards Season for Marty Supreme has been a wild ride and I was pleasantly surprised when I got the offer from Fanatics Sportsbook,” Manley said.
“It was a pleasure working with everyone on set and it was such a great time.”
Squad Bets will also feature Fanatics Sportsbook innovations such as the operator’s Fair Play injury protection and the opportunity to earn FanCash rewards from various wagers.
Fanatics Betting and Gaming announced two appointments to its executive legal team on March 17, with Alex Smith stepping in as Chief Legal Officer and Sara Tait becoming the operator’s new SVP of Legal
