Hard Rock Las Vegas has launched a new executive recruitment drive as redevelopment work continues on its future Las Vegas Strip resort.
In a LinkedIn post, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas SVP and GM Justin Wyborn confirmed the operator is hiring for three senior leadership positions: SVP of Casino Operations & Player Development, SVP of Player Development and SVP of Marketing & Entertainment.
Wyborn said the executives would help establish operational strategy, hiring structures and workplace culture ahead of the property's launch, adding that the leadership team would ultimately help oversee approximately 6,000 employees.
The recruitment push comes nearly two years after Hard Rock International completed its acquisition of Mirage from MGM Resorts International in a deal valued at nearly $1.1bn.
Mirage officially closed operations in July 2024, ending a 34-year run on the Las Vegas Strip as Hard Rock began redevelopment work on the site.
The operator has since outlined plans for a guitar-shaped hotel tower on the Strip property, mirroring its flagship Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Florida.
The redevelopment project is expected to cost more than $5bn and is targeting a spring 2027 opening, according to previous company updates.
Hard Rock’s hiring push reflects broader competition for executive talent in Las Vegas as operators continue investing in large-scale developments. Wynn Resorts continues work on its UAE resort project while MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment remain focused on maintaining market share on the Strip through property upgrades and digital expansion strategies.
The player development roles are particularly significant as Las Vegas operators continue competing for premium gaming customers amid softer visitation trends in some international segments and rising operational costs across hospitality businesses.
Earlier this week, Hard Rock promoted Morgan Lexis to SVP of Global Sales, where she will oversee sales strategy across 35 properties, including Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.
Hard Rock said the new executives will help build operational systems and culture before the resort opens, with leadership structures being built from the ground up
