The Buenos Aires City Lottery has signed a cooperation agreement with the Council of the Magistracy of the City of Buenos Aires aimed at strengthening prevention efforts against underage betting in digital environments.
The agreement establishes joint work on the development and distribution of an educational guide designed for children, adolescents, families and educators.
The material will focus on raising awareness of risks associated with online gambling, alongside guidance on safe play, digital protection tools and available support channels.
“In this way, the City Lottery reaffirms its commitment to the development of public policies aimed at prevention and awareness, working with City Government agencies to promote safer digital environments and responsible use of technology,” stated the lottery.
According to the organizations involved, the initiative will include conceptual content, infographics and outreach materials, which will be distributed through educational programs in primary and secondary schools across the city.
The agreement builds on existing collaboration between the two institutions, including prevention workshops on gambling-related harm already implemented in secondary schools over the past year.
Authorities said the new framework formalizes and expands these efforts into a more structured, long-term initiative.
Representatives present at the signing included Jesús Mariano Acevedo, President of the Buenos Aires City Lottery, and Karina Leguizamon, President of the Council of the Magistracy, alongside other senior officials.
Among actions to prevent youth gambling, Argentina’s Buenos Aires Province Institute of Lottery and Casinos has launched “Activa las alertas” (“Activate alerts”,) a public awareness campaign targeting problem gambling and illegal online betting among young people.
