Cyrus Sherafat will leave Bloomberry Resorts on 31 August
The operator has not yet named a replacement for its head of gaming role
The resignation follows a year in which Solaire Resort North helped offset weaker Manila Bay performance

Bloomberry Resorts Corporation EVP and Head of Gaming, Cyrus Sherafat, has resigned from the Philippine casino operator, with his departure due to take effect on 31 August 2026.

Bloomberry said in a filing that Sherafat tendered his resignation on 30 April “for personal reasons.” The operator has not announced a successor.

Sherafat joined Bloomberry in 2014 after working in casino marketing with Marina Bay Sands.

His tenure covered much of Solaire Resort Entertainment City’s development as Bloomberry’s flagship Manila Bay integrated resort, including its focus on VIP, premium mass and electronic gaming machine segments.

The change comes during a period of operational adjustment for Bloomberry. Solaire Resort North, its $1bn Quezon City integrated resort, opened in May 2024 and completed its first full year of operations in 2025.

That property has become central to Bloomberry’s effort to expand beyond Entertainment City and reach customers in northern Metro Manila. Its ramp-up partly offset softer performance at the Manila Bay property during 2025, particularly in higher-value gaming segments.

The broader Philippine gaming market remains in transition. PAGCOR reported industry gross gaming revenue of Php396.14bn ($6.61bn) in 2025, up 6.39% year-on-year, with online and e-games revenue overtaking land-based revenue for the first time.

That shift has added pressure on integrated resort operators to balance physical casino growth with digital gaming strategies.

Bloomberry has also faced uncertainty around online regulation, which affected the rollout of its MegaFUNalo platform in 2025.

Entertainment City remains one of the Philippines’ main land-based casino clusters, alongside properties operated by groups linked to Universal Entertainment and Melco Resorts. However, the market has been affected by weaker inbound tourism and the residual impact of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator ban.

Earlier this year, GGI reported that Bloomberry’s consolidated EBITDA fell 39% to Php10.2bn in 2025, while the operator posted a Php2.6bn net loss as VIP weakness and premium mass softness weighed on group results.

Sherafat’s resignation is scheduled more than three months after the disclosure date, giving Bloomberry time to appoint a new gaming lead
