Flutter's Cash4Clubs programme has been named Best Grassroots Initiative at the Women's Football Awards, beating competition from Liverpool FC, Manchester City and McDonald's to claim the prize.
The award, presented by Gabby Logan and Jamie Carragher at a ceremony that included an opening address by Prince William, recognises the programme's contribution to women's sport at a community level.
Run in partnership with Sported, Cash4Clubs distributes grants of £2,000 ($2,700) to community clubs and organisations across the UK and Ireland, with a total of £500,000 awarded per funding cycle.
Over the past three years, the programme has backed 86 grassroots football initiatives specifically supporting women, and 377 across a broader range of sports.
Since launching in 2008, Flutter has contributed more than £7m to grassroots sport in total.
Among the clubs supported in the current cycle are Cloughey FC, which is establishing the only women's football team in the lower Ards Peninsula ahead of its first competitive season in 2026, and Brighton Seagals FC, which provides inclusive football opportunities for women, non-binary and trans adults.
Nearly half of all grant recipients this year are based in some of the most deprived areas of the UK and Ireland.
Commenting on the achievement, Kevin Harrington, CEO of Flutter UK & Ireland, stated: “Cash4Clubs is a cornerstone of our commitment to reach the lives of 10 million people in the communities where we operate by 2030.
“Community clubs are the bedrock of sport in the UK and Ireland. Many operate on shoestring budgets, yet they deliver extraordinary impact for their members and wider communities. Unfortunately, without support from programmes such as Cash4Clubs, many of these vital community institutions simply won't survive.
“We’re proud to play our part and honoured to be recognised at the Women’s Football Awards.”
The award comes during an active period for Flutter more broadly. The operator recently reported a 17% increase in Q1 2026 revenue to $4.3bn, alongside a significant leadership change at FanDuel, where President Christian Genetski took over as CEO following Amy Howe's departure in early May.
