Key Points
Tipico will stream all 2026 FIFA World Cup matches for qualified users via its website and app
Users must exit the live stream to place bets, and the stream stops when the betting product page is opened
Access is limited to verified users with recent betting activity and is positioned as a betting companion rather than a replacement for traditional TV coverage
The restrictions follow scrutiny from Deutsche Telekom and FIFA, with Deutsche Telekom retaining Germany’s primary World Cup broadcasting rights through MagentaTV

Tipico will, for the first time and for qualified users only, offer live streams of all 2026 World Cup matches on its betting website and app, although with limitations. Users must leave the streaming screen to access betting features, and the stream will stop once the product page is opened.

The operator will be the first and only sports betting provider in Germany to stream World Cup matches. Streaming will be available on desktop PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

The live video will occupy one-third of the screen on desktops and tablets, while smartphones will display half-screen playback. Qualifying Tipico users can watch all the matches on tipico.de and in the Tipico sports betting app.

This service will only be available to Tipico users in Germany who have a registered and verified betting account. These players must either have a positive account balance or have placed a bet within the last 24 hours. It is positioned as a betting companion rather than a competitor to traditional television coverage.

The technical limitations follow scrutiny from Deutsche Telekom and FIFA after Tipico first announced the streaming service at the beginning of the month.

At the time, Deutsche Telekom emphasised that it remains the sole holder of Germany’s primary broadcasting rights for the FIFA World Cup 2026 through MagentaTV and has also sublicensed selected fixtures to public broadcasters ARD and ZDF.

The streaming is provided by Stats Perform, FIFA’s official betting data and streaming distributor, and the rights package acquired by Tipico corresponds in scope and structure to the standard package offered to sports betting providers across Europe.

Tipico was recently acquired by the Banijay Group. The operator originally submitted its intentions to acquire a majority stake in Tipico during October 2025, as well as plans to combine the entity with its Betclic and Admiral brands.
