Merkur Casino UK has pledged a total of £2,800 ($3,749.68) to support Hull Zingari Cricket Club as part of its Merkur Community programme.
Merkur had previously donated £1,936 to the club, which would be used to keep membership costs stable for members.
An additional donation of £938 was made by Merkur after the club revealed that it needed to purchase equipment ahead of the 2026 season, particularly 24 cricket balls.
Laurence Wilkinson, Hull Zingari Cricket Club Treasurer, said: “To run our cricket club, we are required to use a new cricket ball for each match for the first, second, and third teams.
“Each season has 22 matches, so as you can imagine it is the main expense of the club to keep the teams functioning.
“With Merkur’s support, it helps significantly towards us being able to run our club. It means we don’t have to pass on the costs to the members and ensures that everyone is able to participate, opening the club to all.”

The Hull Zingari Cricket Club has played at Chanterlands Avenue since 1910 and welcomes players of all abilities and backgrounds, including junior cricket programmes with players as young as six years old.
Notably, the club also runs inclusion projects aimed at asylum seekers and refugees to assist with integration and reduce tension in the local area.
Mark Schertle, Merkur COO, said: “At Merkur, we are committed to giving back to the communities we serve, particularly by supporting those who create a positive difference.
“Hull Zingari is a perfect example of creating a meaningful impact on local communities and working to bring people together from all backgrounds through their collective love of the sport is a great thing to see.
“We are delighted that our additional donation can ensure that the club continues to do so.”
Earlier this year, Merkur Casino UK commited £100,000 to Momentum Children’s Charity as part of a new three-year partnership aimed at supporting families with seriously ill children.
So far, Merkur has donated £30, 572.53 to local groups and organisations as part of its Community programme
