The New York State Gaming Commission has reported the jurisdiction’s total online sports betting activity for May 2026, as handle decreased 3.6% year-over-year to $2.1bn, while gross gaming revenue (GGR) generated by operators fell 17.8% to $204.2m.

How has the state's online sports betting handle performed throughout the year?
While FanDuel led all operators with $88.7m of online sports betting revenue, the figure still equates to a decrease of 18.5%, while DraftKings’ revenue in New York fell 21% for a total of $66.5m.
Fanatics Sportsbook managed to account for the third-highest revenue total of all sports betting operators in New York, producing nearly $18.3m for an increase of 1.8%. Caesars Sportsbook generated $9.8m of online sports betting revenue for May, equating to a decrease of 28.6%.
BetMGM reported close to $13.4m of online sports betting revenue in New York, representing a fall of 8.7% from the prior year period. Rush Street Interactive and theScore Bet reported May 2026 online sports betting revenues of $3.1m and $3.2m, respectively, equating to decreases of 24.7% and 19%.
Finally, Bally Bet accounted for just over $1m of New York’s total online sports betting GGR for May, having risen 77.3%.

On the commercial side, New York legislators passed a new bill on June 5 which transfers the tax payments submitted by commercial casinos from the state’s Gaming Commission to the New York Racing Association (NYRA), following a deadlock between the regulator and Resorts World New York City.
The New York State Gaming Commission had previously determined Resorts World New York City owed the state $150m per year in horseracing subsidiaries, but the operator released a statement celebrating the June 5 decision.
