Loterj has announced updates to its health and food assistance programs, increasing employee benefits that the organization said had gone more than 10 years without adjustment.
According to the lottery authority, the changes were implemented through Ordinances No. 736/2026 and No. 740/2026 as part of an ongoing people management strategy focused on employee wellbeing and workplace quality of life.
Under the revised health assistance program, eligible reimbursements can now reach up to BR1,485 per month. The benefit covers a wider range of healthcare services, including health insurance, dental treatment, psychological support, physiotherapy, nutritional counseling and integrative health practices.
Coverage has also been extended to dependents of Loterj employees.
In addition, the organization updated its food allowance program, setting the monthly benefit at BR1,440 ($290).
Loterj said the measures are intended to strengthen employee support structures and contribute to a healthier working environment.
The initiative is part of a broader management agenda led by President Fabíola Esteves, who has previously contributed to Global Gaming Insider on topics including illegal gambling, regulatory cooperation and Rio de Janeiro’s ambitions to position itself as an international gaming and entertainment hub.
The announcement comes as Rio de Janeiro continues to play a prominent role within Brazil’s regulated gambling market.
Brazil’s regulated betting market recorded nearly 10 million active users in March, according to data from the Federal Government’s Betting Management System (SIGAP). Rio de Janeiro registered 1.79 million active bettors during the month, the highest figure recorded among Brazilian states.
Loterj has been invited to join a UN Tourism initiative, becoming the first Brazilian gambling authority to participate in the organization’s network
