Jung Sungbae, Vice Chairman of IMM Investment, has taken part in the “Youth Illegal Gambling Eradication Relay Campaign,” a public awareness initiative aimed at addressing the spread of illegal cyber gambling among young people, as reported by The Asia Business Daily.
The campaign, led by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, seeks to highlight the seriousness of illegal online betting activities targeting adolescents and to build broader social consensus around prevention efforts. It operates as a relay, with each participant posting a photo carrying the campaign message and nominating the next individual to join.
Jung joined the campaign after being nominated by Park Yongkeun, chief executive of EY Han Young. In his message, Jung emphasized that “illegal cyber gambling targeting youth is a scam crime that can never be won,” urging society to pay closer attention to the issue.
He described illegal gambling among adolescents as more than simple misconduct, calling it a serious social problem that threatens the healthy development and future of young people. Jung said companies and individuals alike must maintain sustained interest and actively participate in prevention efforts to ensure that future generations grow up in a safe and supportive environment.
“As a responsible investor that values social good and a sound foundation for growth, IMM Investment will take the lead in protecting youth and fostering a healthy social environment through this campaign,” Jung said.
He nominated Hwang Hyungsoon, Chief Executive of career platform company Saramin, as the next participant in the relay.
IMM Investment reiterated its commitment to promoting sustainable growth and responsible investing, adding that it will continue working to build an investment ecosystem aligned with long-term social well-being and youth protection.
The relay-style campaign invites participants to share a certified photo with a campaign message and nominate the next individual to continue the initiative
