PrizePicks has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of prediction markets, now available within its app through a partnership with Kalshi.

The new offering is operated by Performance Predictions II, LLC, a Futures Commission Merchant registered with the National Futures Association, which enables PrizePicks to list event-based contracts tied to federally regulated Designated Contract Markets.

Kalshi is itself a Designated Contract Market where customers can trade in predictions of outcomes across sports, entertainment and broader cultural events.

The company has stated that all listed markets inside the PrizePicks app are Kalshi markets, giving users access to contracts ranging from match results to award shows and political outcomes.

According to PrizePicks' CEO Mike Ybarra, "Expanding into prediction markets delivers on what our customers want, innovative products with more ways to play."

Kalshi CEO, Tarek Mansour, described the integration as a significant moment for prediction markets in the US.

"This is a game-changing moment and we're excited to be the first to fuel and supercharge the PrizePicks fan experience," he said.

At launch, the new product introduces Team Picks and Culture Picks across 38 states and Washington DC. Team Picks allow customers to predict winners of matches, fights or season-long outcomes such as playoff chances or win totals.

Culture Picks extend beyond sports, enabling predictions on major entertainment and political events.

PrizePicks highlighted that its FCM registration allows the company to offer prediction markets in a regulated environment, supported by responsible gaming tools including financial limits, timeouts, self-exclusion and access to mental health resources through Kindbridge Behavioral Health.

The company also noted its iCAP accreditation from the National Council on Problem Gambling for its responsible gaming practices.

Kalshi, founded in 2018, remains one of the largest prediction market platforms in the US, offering markets across elections, sports and cultural events.

Polymarket is the biggest prediction markets operator in terms of pure valuation, and intriguingly this news comes just days after it announced that it too was partnering with PrizePicks.

While Polymarket is expected to re-enter the US market imminently, the Kalshi contracts can go live immediately with PrizePicks.
