Maryland Lottery and Gaming has reported the state’s total sports betting activity for June 2026, as mobile and retail operators managed to generate $38.2m of taxable win during the monthly period, equating to a decrease of 17.6%.
While revenue for Maryland’s licensed sports betting operators fell year-over-year, the state’s total wagering handle for June increased 29.6% to just over $523.3m.
Mobile operations accounted for the vast majority of sports betting revenue in Maryland after reporting $37.9m, but still witnessed a decrease of 16.7%,. Retail operators produced similar luck during June, as taxable win fell 63% to just $346,040.

How have operators performed since 2022?
Operators managed to generate $7.6m in contributions to various state funds during June, including the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, General Fund and Problem Gambling Fund.
The June contributions represent a 17.4% decrease, but the $132.3m generated for fiscal year 2026 marks a 48.8% increase from the prior year period.
Since sports wagering was legalized in Maryland during December 2021, operators have contributed nearly $277.1m to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, $32.6m to the General Fund and just over $5.6m to the Problem Gambling Fund.

How has the state's handle fluctuated since the start of 2026?
On July 7, Maryland Lottery and Gaming reported the state’s total casino activity for June, as the six commercial operators currently active combined to generate $156.8m of revenue, equating to a decrease of 2.4%.
MGM National Harbor accounted for the most revenue of any property in Maryland with nearly $66.6m during June, but reported a decrease of 0.9% year-over-year. Live! Casino & Hotel was a close second with $56.2m of revenue, representing a decrease of 4.7%.
Horseshoe Casino and Hollywood Casino reported June 2026 revenues of $14.2m and $6.8m, respectively, equating to decreases of 0.4% and 5.8%. Rocky Gap Casino generated $4.3m of revenue during the monthly period, but fell 6.8%.
Ocean Downs Casino was the only commercial operator in Maryland to report an increase in revenue for June 2026, having risen 4.3% from the prior year period to just over $8.8m.
