SCCG Management has launched SCCG Brazil, a dedicated advisory division for the Brazilian gaming market
Thomas Carvalhaes joins the company as Partner to co-lead the new operation alongside Stephen Crystal
The division will advise operators, investors and suppliers

SCCG Management has announced the launch of SCCG Brazil, a new advisory division focused exclusively on Brazil's regulated gaming and iGaming market.

The new operation will be jointly led by SCCG Founder and CEO Stephen Crystal and Thomas Carvalhaes, who joins the company as Partner and Co-Manager.

Carvalhaes brings more than 15 years of experience in the Brazilian gaming sector, having held senior roles with several international operators and worked extensively on market entry and regulatory compliance.

According to SCCG, the new division builds on the company's broader Latin American expansion announced earlier this year, but reflects Brazil's distinct regulatory framework, language and market dynamics.

SCCG Brazil will provide advisory services across a range of areas, including regulatory guidance, market entry strategies, mergers and acquisitions, commercial partnerships, capital introductions and international expansion support for both domestic and overseas businesses.

The launch follows the introduction of Brazil's regulated betting market under Law No. 14,790/2023. SCCG said the country's licensing framework and the establishment of the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) have created a more structured environment for operators and investors.

The company noted that Brazil's regulated gaming market generated an estimated BRL37bn ($7.25bn) in gross gaming revenue during its first year, with 79 licensed operators serving around 25 million active bettors.

SCCG also highlighted the country's large population, widespread mobile adoption and growing international interest as key drivers of future growth.

Crystal said the company has maintained a presence in Brazil for many years and believes the country's regulatory developments have created new opportunities for expansion.

Carvalhaes added: "Brazil’s regulated market has moved from potential to proof, generating billions in its first year under a fully structured licensing framework.

"International operators and investors need a partner who has navigated this market from the inside, through the regulatory buildout, the payment infrastructure and the commercial realities on the ground. SCCG Brazil is that partner."

The Brazil launch follows SCCG's establishment of a broader Latin American division and Miami office earlier this year, alongside recent partnership announcements with lottery platform ScratchOdds and AI-powered sports analytics provider BTA Sports.
