Kambi Group and Penn Entertainment have agreed to extend its retail sportsbook platform collaboration through July 31, 2027, including trading capabilities, betting kiosks, bring your own device technology and over-the-counter wagering solutions.

"We are pleased to extend our retail agreement with Penn Entertainment, reaffirming Kambi's position as the trusted sportsbook provider for leading operators," Kambi CEO Werner Becher said.

"This agreement ensures Penn can continue to benefit from our high-performance technology while maintaining the flexibility to execute its long-term strategic plans. We look forward to continuing to work alongside Penn to deliver exceptional retail sportsbook experiences for its customers across the US."

The previous agreement formed between the two entities was set to expire on December 31, 2025, as Kambi currently supports 30 Penn Entertainment properties in 13 US states.

The extension was also said to provide Penn Entertainment with "additional flexibility" as the operator prepares for migration to its proprietary technology.

Extending its agreement with Kambi offers much-desired reliability for Penn Entertainment, which chose to conclude its online sports betting partnership with ESPN Bet on November 6.

"When we first announced our partnership with ESPN, both sides made it clear that we expected to compete for a podium position in the space," Penn President and CEO Jay Snowden said at the time of announcement.

"Although we made significant progress in improving our product offering and building a cohesive ecosystem with ESPN, we have mutually and amicably agreed to wind down our collaboration. We plan to realign our digital focus on our growing iCasino business, while continuing to capitalize on our omnichannel advantage as the nation's leading regional retail casino operator."

Shortly after the collaboration was discontinued, ESPN named DraftKings as its exclusive Official Sportsbook and Odds Provider.
