Casino Club SA's online betting concession is the subject of an order from La Pampa's Fiscalía de Investigaciones Administrativas (FIA), the province's administrative investigations office in Argentina.
The FIA ordered the Provincial Government and DAFAS to release documentation on the concession.
The order follows a public records request filed by lawyer and opposition leader Julián Angelucci. The Government had initially withheld part of the documentation, citing Casino Club's commercial interests and trade secrets.
The FIA ordered the release of the full concession contract and any amendments or extensions, the methodology used to calculate and settle the Net Win fee, and Casino Club's 2024 and 2025 financial statements.
The ruling followed a freedom of information request filed by Julián Angelucci, a lawyer and local leader of the opposition party Avanzar Juntos CC in General Pico, a city in La Pampa.
Angelucci said that the Provincial Government had initially refused to hand over part of the documentation, arguing that disclosure could affect the company's economic interests and trade secrets.
The FIA resolution requires the Government to provide Casino Club's complete concession contract and any amendments or extensions.
It also requires the methodology used to calculate and settle the so-called Net Win fee, the difference between revenue and prizes paid out, as well as the company's financial statements for 2024 and 2025.
Angelucci said online betting activity in the province had grown sharply, citing a figure of more than ARS 4bn ($2.64m) wagered in April alone, which he projected to roughly ARS 50bn annually.
He said the information released so far does not clarify how much is wagered, how much is paid out in prizes and how much the province actually collects.
He also raised concerns about advertising practices, saying influencers in General Pico were promoting Casino Club and offering sign-up bonuses of up to ARS 100,000, and cited a provincial survey in which a fifth of surveyed high school students reported having already placed online bets.
Angelucci added that he requested the information to determine what safeguards exist against problem gambling and how revenue from the concession is distributed among municipalities and provincial ministries.
