OpenBet has announced the appointment of a new CEO, Nikos Konstakis, who is set to step into the role at the turn of the calendar year.
As part of this reshuffle, current OpenBet CEO Jordan Levin is set to step into the role of Chairman, where he will work alongside Konstakis on the development and execution of the operator's long-term strategy. Indeed, once Konstakis steps into the CEO role in the new year, he will oversee all operational strategy and is set to focus initially on growth, product and technological priorities.
Konstakis has worked across a variety of roles at OpenBet for the past five years, including Group Chief Product Officer, Chief Operating Officer and currently acts as the operator's President.
This latest development follows the recent announcement of OpenBet's OmniLogic acquisition earlier this month. Konstakis will work to aid the transition as the two companies merge and OpenBet seeks to enhance its lottery position within the European market.
Speaking on this latest announcement, Levin stated: “Nikos has already been instrumental in driving the evolution of OpenBet and I have tremendous confidence in his leadership as CEO, having served in multiple senior executive positions at OpenBet. He knows our business, our customers and our technology inside out, and has played a central role in shaping our priorities and how we execute against them.
"Furthermore, Nikos has been a true confidant and partner in the business since coming on board over eight years ago. With OpenBet on a strong footing and significant opportunities ahead, I’m excited to continue supporting Nikos and the wider team as we drive the next phase of OpenBet’s growth.”
Konstakis also commented on his appointment, saying: “I want to thank Jordan for his leadership and the foundation he has built at OpenBet. It’s a privilege to take on this role and lead the business at such an exciting time. We have an exceptional customer base, a great team and significant opportunities ahead of us.
"My focus will be on building on those strengths, bringing even greater pace and focus to the business and making sure we continue to set the standard in the markets we serve. I’m excited about what we can achieve from here and look forward to working with Jordan in his new role, and with our teams around the world, as we take OpenBet forward.”
Konstakis and Levin will facilitate the merging of OnmiLogic's sportsbook technology team, principally based in Hungary, who will join OpenBet as part of its merger
