Key Points
Prior to joining Light & Wonder, Labbat served as SVP and Head of Aristocrat’s Product Madness division
Light & Wonder CFO Oliver Chow had previously taken over SciPlay CEO responsibilities following Wilson’s exit

Light & Wonder has appointed Matthieu Labbat as the supplier’s new SciPlay CEO, having previously served as SVP and Head of Aristocrat Gaming’s Product Madness mobile division.

Labbat assumes the position from former SciPlay CEO Josh Wilson, who announced his intention to step down from the role in September but remained with the supplier through October 30.

Following Wilson’s exit, current Light & Wonder CFO Oliver Chow assumed SciPlay CEO responsibilities. Light & Wonder confirmed a search for Wilson’s replacement began in September, and the supplier seemingly found his replacement in the former Aristocrat executive.

“Matthieu has a proven record of building and scaling mobile gaming businesses, paired with exceptional product vision and a talent for developing teams. That combination makes him the ideal leader for SciPlay as we seek to extend the reach of its portfolio of brands,” Light & Wonder President & CEO Matt Wilson said.

“SciPlay has a talented team, a portfolio of beloved brands and a clear path to long-term value creation, and I have great confidence in its future. Matthieu will work side by side with SciPlay’s experienced leaders as he immerses himself in the business, our people and our players. I’m delighted to welcome him to Light & Wonder and look forward to supporting him.”

Labbat will certainly be looked upon to improve SciPlay operations for Light & Wonder, as the supplier’s Q3 2026 report showcased a 12% decrease in the business’ revenue to $163m.

SciPlay’s consolidated AEBITDA also decreased year-over-year, falling 6% to $67m. Light & Wonder’s net revenue for the quarter fell 2% to $824m, although net income rose 16.7% to $133m.

Along with his role overseeing Product Madness for Aristocrat, Labbat also served as SVP of Games, Customer Experience and Art, as well as VP of Product Management.
