The Pools has appointed Caroline Newman as its new Director of Regulatory Compliance. In her new role, Newman will be responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance, governance and risk frameworks, with a focus on supporting responsible growth and maintaining standards of player protection.
Her remit includes ensuring the long-established British brand remains aligned with regulatory expectations as industry requirements continue to develop.
Newman brings more than 10 years of experience in compliance across the regulated gambling sector. Most recently, she served as Head of Anti-Financial Crime and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for UK and Ireland at Entain.
Prior to that, she spent four years at Midnite as Head of Compliance and MLRO, where she was the company’s first dedicated compliance hire and led the development of its compliance programme from an early stage.
Earlier in her career, Newman held compliance roles with several B2B suppliers, including Inspired, Playtech and Odobo, providing her with experience across both operator and supplier environments.
Her appointment follows a broader period of organisational change at The Pools. Earlier this month, the company named former LeoVegas executive Joseph Carter-Bell as Director of Customer Success and Operations.
These hires come after a rebrand and a wider restructuring programme that has seen multiple senior appointments over the past 18 months across marketing, technology, product and customer relationship management.
Commenting on the most recent appointment, The Pools’ CEO James Arnold stated: “We’re delighted to kick off 2026 with the appointment of Caroline Newman as our new Director of Regulatory Compliance.
“Caroline brings a wealth of experience to the organisation thanks to her time at Entain and Midnite, impressive credentials that will bring an immediate positive impact to both our team and our loyal and new customers.”
In other appointment news, RubyPlay recently named Dima Reiderman as CCO to support its regulated market expansion, while Soft2Bet made dual appointments with Samuele Traversin joining as Executive VP of Business Strategy and Corporate Development and Harrison Barrett as VP of Business Development.
The Pools has made several senior appointments over the past 18 months as part of a broader transformation strategy, alongside a major brand refresh completed in 2025
