Manuela Jiménez, Vice President of Zitro, has announced her retirement after nearly 18 years with the company and more than 50 years working in the gaming industry shortly after Michael Bauer was appointed Zitro Digital CEO.
She joined Zitro in 2009 and contributed to the company’s position as a global supplier in the sector. Her work focused on operational management and supporting the company’s growth and development.
The transition to new leadership has been planned to ensure continuity. Albert Zorrilla, General Manager of Zitro Spain for the past year, has worked alongside Manuela during the handover period and will continue to oversee the company’s Spanish operations.
Manuela’s retirement marks the end of her time at Zitro and her active career in the gaming industry. She leaves the company with leadership structures in place and a management team prepared to continue operations as Zitro becomes the newest member of the American Gaming Association.
Zitro recently contributed to the ICE Barcelona donor fund, an initiative supporting social projects connected to responsible gaming, sustainability and wider social impact objectives.
The contribution was formally recognised during a handover ceremony at ICE Barcelona 2026, held within the event’s Sustainable Gaming Zone.
Johnny Ortiz, Zitro Founder, stated: “Manuela has been with me since we started this venture, and I honestly can’t imagine Zitro without her.
“She’s put her heart into this company every single day. Her experience, judgment and ability to connect with people are qualities that cannot be replaced. We’re going to miss her tremendously.”
Jiménez added: “I’ve watched this company grow from the very beginning, and being part of the Zitro family has been absolutely rewarding.
“As I say farewell, I do so with immense pride in what we’ve accomplished, knowing Zitro is in excellent hands.”
During her tenure, Manuela’s role involved managing teams, strengthening client relationships and supporting industry initiatives in Spain
