Both sanctions prohibit involvement in any ITIA-sanctioned tennis activity during the ineligibility period

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has confirmed sanctions against two tennis players after separate investigations found breaches of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).

Gustavo Tedesco, a 21-year-old player from Brazil, has been suspended for two years and three months and fined $15,000, with $10,500 of that amount suspended. The sanction follows Tedesco’s admission to six TACP violations committed in 2022.

According to the ITIA, Tedesco contrived the outcomes of three matches on the ITF World Tennis Tour between September and November 2022. The investigation also found that he facilitated wagering linked to those matches. Tedesco reached a career-high ITF singles ranking of 423 in January 2023.

The player was entitled to appeal the sanction within 10 business days but did not do so. As a result, his period of ineligibility began on January 24, 2026, and will run until April 23, 2028.

In a separate case, the ITIA has sanctioned 27-year-old former tennis player Gyulnara Nazarova of Russia with a four-year suspension and a $10,000 fine. Nazarova, who has been inactive since 2020, was found to have made corrupt approaches to another player in May 2019.

Nazarova achieved a career-high singles ranking of 823 in August 2019. She was formally charged on December 23, 2025. After failing to respond to the ITIA’s charges, a deemed sanction came into effect on January 10, 2026.

Her suspension will remain in force until January 9, 2030.

During their respective periods of ineligibility, both individuals are prohibited from playing, coaching, or attending any tennis events authorized or sanctioned by the ITIA’s member organizations. These include the ATP, ITF, WTA, and the sport’s four Grand Slam governing bodies.

The ITIA stated that it continues to pursue enforcement actions aimed at safeguarding the integrity of professional tennis across all levels of the game.

In December 2025, French player Quentin Folliot was handed a 20-year ban and fined $70,000 after being found guilty of 27 anti-corruption violations. The ITIA identified Folliot as a central recruiter within a wider match-fixing syndicate operating between 2022 and 2024.
