Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has announced a wide range of community and team member activities in the lead-up to Chinese New Year, highlighting cultural engagement, intergenerational outreach and responsible gaming awareness across Macau.
Marking the 10th anniversary of its title sponsorship, GEG continued its support for the “GEG Community Caring Program” organised by Peng On Tung of the General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macau. This year’s programme maintained its focus on “Technology Care”, featuring an innovation design competition that attracted nearly 120 participating students.
After the award ceremony, GEG representatives, UGAMM officials and winning students visited Peng On Tung users, seniors living alone and elderly couples to distribute festive gifts. Students had earlier received training in assistive technology and visited Peng On Tung users as part of the initiative.
Cultural education also formed a major part of GEG’s seasonal activities. Working with the Macau Management Association, the operator invited members of the 15th Youth Achievement Program to visit “Golden Fortunes: The Macau Debut of Zhu Bingren’s Copper Art” and take part in a Chinese New Year-themed copper rubbing workshop. The session aimed to deepen appreciation for Chinese intangible cultural heritage through hands-on experience.
GEG further expanded its responsible gaming outreach through a Chinese New Year roadshow co-organised with the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao. The back-of-house campaign combined quick Q&A formats, tongue-twisters and ambassador-led consultations, drawing close to 4,000 team members.
The company will also play a prominent role in citywide celebrations. As an official partner of the “Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Horse”, GEG will present a “Golden Horse” float accompanied by performances. From February 14 to March 8, it will host the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards Spring Festival Bazaar, featuring Macau’s largest display of 302 dancing lion heads, festive wishing trees and an ice-skating rink for residents and visitors.
GEG will debut its “Golden Horse” float on the third and twelfth days of Chinese New Year as an official partner of Macau’s annual parade
