Coljuegos, the Colombian Gaming Regulator, has confirmed that 245,199 people have joined the self-exclusion register.
According to the figures, 81% of the exclusions are instigated by men, while the remaining 19% are from women.
The populous region of Antioquia accounts for the largest number of exclusions, totalling 21.39% in 2025, followed by the capital city Bogotá, with 19.07%.
Marco Emilio Hincapié, Coljuegos President, said: "We have been implementing the 'Take Control, Play It Safe' campaign, through which we have informed players about the risks and consequences of betting without control. Our purpose is to promote gambling as entertainment, and not as an addiction.
"Self-exclusion has been consolidated as a self-care tool increasingly used by Colombians. The increase and consistency in the records reflect a greater awareness of the risks of excessive gambling and the importance of having effective mechanisms to protect the health and well-being of users.”
Only recently, the regulator reported 37,283 visits to its ‘Take Control, Play It Safe' campaign, with its Risk Factor Identification Test completed 2,909 times.
The self-exclusions are voluntary from the player, but the regulator has commented that preventing gambling harm is a joint effort between players and operators to put measures into place when they are needed.
All 14 regulated gambling operators in Colombia have a space on their platforms for individuals to specifically self-exclude themselves.
This prevents bets from being made from profiles associated with the player’s ID number, which also prevents additional accounts from being made to circumvent the ban.
Coljuegos has been focusing on its milestones and achievements as part of World Responsible Gambling Day on 17 February
