Brazil's Minister of Sports, André Fufuca, has signed a cooperation agreement with the National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) to promote sports integrity and responsible gambling in the country's betting market.
The pact seeks to reinforce ethical practices and strengthen the fight against match-fixing within the regulated sector.
"This agreement aims to build a cooperative network with key industry stakeholders to ensure that the growth of the betting market remains aligned with ethics, transparency and the protection of sporting integrity," said Minister Fufuca.
According to Giovanni Rocco, National Secretary for Sports Betting and Economic Development in Sport, the partnership provides a foundation for close collaboration with the regulated market.
"It enables dialogue with companies committed to legality, helping us develop educational campaigns, train operators and combat match-fixing effectively," he said.
The partnership, signed through the National Secretary for Sports Betting and Economic Development, does not involve financial transfers and follows the guidelines of Brazil's General Sports Law, the federal betting law and Decree 12.110/2024.
The decree grants the secretay authority to coordinate preventive measures against match manipulation and monitor fixed-odds betting activity nationwide.
Joint actions outlined in the agreement include educational initiatives on responsible gambling, exchange of methodologies, training sessions for operators and the publication of technical studies and reports.
A monitoring group composed of representatives from both institutions will oversee implementation.
The agreement will remain in force for 60 months and marks a new phase of collaboration between Government and industry toward a safer, more transparent sports betting environment.
