The Cambodian Commercial Gaming Commission has released the latest financial figures from its commercial gambling sector.
The regulator collected over $72m in revenue from its legalized gambling industry in 2025, a 14% increase compared to the figures in 2024.
The figures come from Chhoeng Chantha, the Technical Advisor to the Commission’s Secretariat, who confirmed that the total mandatory revenue reached KHR 290.7bn ($72m) by the end of the year.
Chantha also went on to explain that Cambodia will continue cracking down on the illegal gambling sector.
Authorities in the country will begin taking stricter administrative action against businesses and individuals who violate the Law on Commercial Gambling Management.
This includes issuing warnings and guiding people to better practices, or imposing fines and revoking licenses for repeat offenders.
Cambodia currently has 195 licensed casinos, with 160 of these located in the Preah Sihanouk province alone.
This region is located on the southwest coast of Cambodia, and has the major port city of Sihanoukville.
Last week, the Commission revoked the licenses of five casinos and suspended the license of one additional operator.
Official reports indicate that the licenses of Golden Fortune Resorts World, Jinbei Group, Cambodian Heng Xin Real Estate, GC Casino, and Jinbei 4 Casino were revoked, while Wo Casino was suspended.
The Commission explained that these properties were potentially linked to Chen Zi, a Cambodian businessman who is alleged to be part of an international organized crime group involved with cyber fraud, illegal gambling and multiple cryptocurrency schemes.
In 2025, a further seven casinos were closed for violating gambling regulations
