The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) and the National Information Technology Authority–Uganda (NITA-U) have completed a technical training programme in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The goal was to help workers better understand the operation of Uganda's National Central Electronic Monitoring System (NCEMS).
The training covered the management, maintenance and support of the monitoring platform, which serves as a key regulatory tool for oversight of Uganda’s gaming sector.
During the programme, the team worked closely with the system consultant through practical demonstrations, hands-on workshops and technical briefings.
Sessions covered the architecture of the system, its integration framework and day-to-day operational processes.
According to the NLGRB, the training is intended to ensure local teams can confidently oversee the system’s functionality while improving regulatory transparency, accountability and operational efficiency.
The NCEMS allows regulators to monitor gaming activities electronically, providing real-time oversight that supports compliance enforcement and data-driven supervision across licensed operators.
The NLGRB stated that ongoing skills development and collaboration with international partners remain central to its efforts to enhance regulatory standards and improve service delivery across the industry.
The NLGRB recently conducted training programs in responsible gambling and player protection at the Kitooro Market in Entebbe, Uganda
