Brett Lee has been appointed as Chief Celebration Officer of the UAE Lottery
The former Australian cricketer will now take part in a number of fan activations as part of this appointment

The UAE Lottery has formally announced Australian cricketing legend Brett Lee as its Chief Celebration Officer.

As such, Lee will now feature in a number of brand activations for the only regulated lottery in the United Arab Emirates, including appearances in lottery winner interviews, fan experiences and community activations across the nation.

Further, his new position as Chief Celebration Officer will see Lee collaborate with winners on exclusive UAE Lottery content, with the lottery operator outlining that his appointment seeks to reaffirm its commitment to ‘responsible entertainment.’

This latest development comes at a pivotal point of development for the UAE’s gambling market, which underwent a flurry of activity through 2024 and 2025 as it began handing out its first-ever operational licenses to operators and suppliers, as well as establishing its first-ever national lottery.

Elsewhere, Wynn Resorts’ Al Marjan Island resort development continues to advance toward its scheduled 2027 opening, with new ground officially broken in July of this year. More recently, the operator also unveiled a new Townhomes accommodation category in recent weeks.

Additional cricket-related updates from the nation saw US national Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy banned from the sport for eight years after an ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of numerous counts of corruption last month. Indeed, one count discovered that Reddy attempted to obstruct this investigation during the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 tournament in the UAE.

More recently, the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) formally granted Euro Games Technology a Gaming Related Vendor License earlier this month, authorizing the company to supply its land-based gaming solutions to licensed operators within the nation.
