Novibet has signed a three-year agreement to become the main shirt sponsor of Santos FC, securing the central space on the club’s jersey in a deal that could reach BR85m per season.
The partnership includes a fixed annual payment of BR35m with the possibility of increasing the total value by up to BR50m through variable revenue components.
Under the agreement, the club will receive 25% of the operator’s betting revenue generated by fans who register and place wagers on the platform through Santos-linked campaigns.
The partnership was announced by Carlos Freitas, Country Manager at Novibet, who described the deal as more than a commercial sponsorship, highlighting the historic significance of the club within Brazilian football.
The agreement comes after Santos ended its previous partnership with 7KBet, a deal reportedly valued at around $9.2m, prompting the club to seek a new long-term sponsor for the front of its shirt.
Founded in 1912, Santos FC is widely regarded as one of the most influential clubs in the history of Brazilian football and gained global recognition during the era of Pelé, who began his legendary career at the club and helped popularize Brazilian football worldwide.
Based at the iconic Vila Belmiro stadium in Santos, the team has won multiple national and international titles and is seen as a symbol of Brazil’s football heritage.
The agreement follows negotiations with several potential sponsors and comes after the club reportedly rejected a separate proposal from the betting brand ZeroUm after internal compliance concerns.
Industry sources indicated that other operators were also interested in the sponsorship opportunity before the final agreement was reached.
Betano and Sportingbet were reportedly among the betting operators considered during negotiations for the club’s main sponsorship position
