DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has received regulatory approval to operate in South Africa, paving the way for its second international expansion after Brazil.
The company announced it has secured approval from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board for three operator licenses, including a National Manufacturer License, a Bookmaker License and a Bookmaker Premises License. The Western Cape regulator oversees the country’s largest online gaming market by province.
South Africa is estimated to have generated US$4.9bn in gaming revenues in 2025, with Western Cape contributing roughly 31% of the national total. The province is widely viewed as an attractive entry point for international operators due to its established regulatory framework and digital infrastructure.
The move forms part of DigiPlus’ broader international growth strategy. The company previously entered Brazil and expects full commercial operations there to begin in the first half of 2026. A Singapore hub has also been established to support overseas expansion.
Financially, DigiPlus reported resilient 2025 results, with net income of PHP12.6bn (US$211.6m) broadly in line with the prior year. Revenue rose 12% to PHP84.2bn, while EBITDA increased 2% to PHP14.2bn. Although fourth-quarter earnings declined year-on-year following regulatory adjustments, profitability improved sequentially as cost controls were implemented. The operator ended 2025 with PHP23.4bn in cash and minimal debt, enabling it to declare a cash dividend of PHP3.8bn, or PHP0.83 per share.
DigiPlus continues to diversify beyond its core platforms BingoPlus, ArenaPlus and GameZone, strengthening its content portfolio and responsible gaming initiatives as it advances its global ambitions.
