Playtech Brazil has appointed Rafael Cavalcanti as Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel.
Cavalcanti announced the move, describing it as a significant step in his career and highlighting the opportunity to work within a highly regulated and fast-evolving industry. His background includes more than nine years of experience across legal strategy, compliance and corporate contracts, particularly in sectors such as healthcare and public institutions.
In his new role, he will focus on aligning legal and compliance functions within the business, with responsibilities spanning regulatory risk mitigation, responsible gaming frameworks and financial crime prevention measures such as AML, KYC and data protection.
“Challenge accepted! And I'm ready for the new challenges ahead. Let's go!,” said Cavalcanti.
His experience includes handling complex contractual negotiations, including international suppliers, as well as structuring internal policies aimed at ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting business growth. He is also currently undertaking further specialization in compliance for the betting sector.
The appointment comes as Playtech continues to expand its global partnerships.
Playtech has recently expanded its partnership with SkillOnNet, rolling out casino and bingo content across regulated markets including Brazil and Portugal, with further launches planned in Greece and Peru.
In another development in the US, the company signed a SaaS distribution agreement with Inspired Entertainment, enabling operators worldwide to access its virtual sports content, including football, basketball and NFL-themed products, through a single integration.
Inspired CEO Brooks Pierce described the deal as “a major milestone”, aimed at expanding distribution through Playtech’s platform.
