Great Canadian Entertainment has successfully closed on the sale of its Chances Maple Ridge property in British Columbia to Petroglyph Development Group (PDG), which helps drive long-term economic self-determination for the Snuneymuxw First Nation Tribe.
“The completion of this transaction marks an important step in PDG’s continued expansion in the Metro Vancouver marketplace, and we are excited for their continued growth in the provincial gaming industry,” Great Canadian CEO Matt Anfinson said.
“As was the case with the successful sales of Casino Nanaimo and Elements Casino Victoria to PDG, our team and PDG together invested a tremendous amount of work and cooperation to bring this transaction to a close.”
PDG has also closed on acquisitions of Casino Nanaimo and Elements Casino Victoria through transactions with Great Canadian, while revenue generated by Chances Maple Ridge will go toward supporting Nation-building and community priorities.
Snuneymuxw First Nation Chief Mike Wyse spoke on the acquisition, having said, “The closing of this acquisition marks an important moment for Snuneymuxw.
“Chances Maple Ridge officially becomes part of a growing portfolio that supports our Nation’s long-term prosperity and the well-being of future generations.”
Chances Maple Ridge originally debuted in 2013, offering slots, electronic table games, horseracing, bingo and a sportsbook lounge.
“The successful acquisition of Chances Maple Ridge is the result of the disciplined, strategic approach PDG brings to every transaction,” PDG CEO Ian Simpson said.
“We are building a portfolio that is diversified, sustainable and positioned for continued growth.”
The Chances Maple Ridge transaction was first announced on October 30, 2025 and has now received all required approvals from regulatory authorities.
Great Canadian also agreed to sell two of its properties to Tribal entities during November 2025, as the Ts'elxwéyeqw Tribe and Tsleil-Waututh Nation took over operations of Elements Casino Chilliwack and Hastings Racecourse & Casino, respectively.
Great Canadian Entertainment and the NSGC agreed to relocate the operations of Casino Nova Scotia to a new, purpose-built facility in Dartmouth Crossing on January 14, projected to open in 2029
