After the recent attack and fire at the Casino Tropicana in Culiacán, the Government of Sinaloa said it stands ready to provide assistance to people affected, though officials said no formal requests for aid had yet been received.
Yeraldine Bonilla Valverde, Governor of Sinaloa, said state authorities were prepared to support victims through official channels if requested. The comments came as forensic investigators continued examining the site to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
She added: “If the family reaches out, we have the Victims Commission within the State Government. Through that commission, anyone who comes to us receives assistance.”
According to workers at the casino, the fire may have been triggered by an explosive device used during the attack. Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause publicly or attributed responsibility to any specific criminal group.
One woman injured in the incident remained hospitalized as of this week. Health officials said her condition was stable and continuing to improve.
The attack occurred at Casino Tropicana in Culiacán, a venue that local media reported had already been the target of a previous armed assault that damaged part of the building’s exterior.
The latest incident adds to a broader pattern of security-related violence affecting businesses and entertainment venues in Sinaloa, including gaming properties operating in the state.
Investigations into the attack remain ongoing.
