The Loteria de la Ciudad, or the Buenos Aires City Lottery, held another round of courses for those suspected of operating illegal gambling operations.
Under the current framework of the prohibition agreement, people accused of violating Article 301 of the Criminal Code are invited to take part in the courses created by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office on Illegal Gambling (FEJA).
Ezequiel Domínguez, City Lottery Director, was in charge of the conference and was aided by members from the Gambling Conduct Management Team.
The courses addressed the implications of illegal gambling and balanced this by showcasing the importance of operating safe and responsible business ventures.
Domínguez also explained how gambling is affected by the regulatory framework and how individuals can pivot their operations to adhere to the law.
This is just one of many ways that the Buenos Aires City Lottery is tackling illegal gambling in Argentina, with the regulator pushing several different initiatives simultaneously.
Earlier this week, the City Lottery took to the Buenos Aires International Book Fair to hold a lecture on the importance of responsible gambling.
The talks addressed how illegal sites are targeting adolescents and how families and teachers can address the threat.
The City Lottery has also previously held talks with influencers regarding controversial marketing tactics.
On the other end of the spectrum, the City Lottery has been instrumental in several raids across the region that have resulted in people being detained and gambling paraphernalia being seized.
Article 301 bis of the Argentine National Criminal Code criminalizes illegal gambling, defining it as the exploitation, administration, operation, or organization of gambling, by oneself or through third parties, without the required authorization from the competent jurisdiction
