Colombia's gaming regulator Coljuegos has collected approximately COP $205.6m (US$55,535) to finance the country's health system, according to an announcement made at GAT Expo 2025 in the Dominican Republic.
The figure represents revenue generated from regulated gaming operations and transferred to the subsidized health program.
Marco Emilio Hincapié, President of Coljuegos, said: "We are building a new history for our entity. During the 14 years of Coljuegos' existence, 33% of total transfers correspond to the period of the Government of Change."
The regulator attributed the revenue growth to three factors: regulation of new games, enforcement against illegal operations and technological modernization.
Hincapié said: "We have already granted a concession for keno, a novel game that, over the next five years, will contribute approximately COP $127m additional dollars to the health sector."
He added: "To this, we must add the update in raffle regulations, which will leave us around $18.4m annually that will also go to strengthen the subsidized regime."
Coljuegos has seized 7,269 illegal elements, conducted more than 200 operations nationwide and arrested nearly 900 individuals operating unauthorized games during the current administration.
The agency has also blocked 34,112 unauthorized betting websites and destroyed over 11,000 slot machines, gaming modules, iitems of bingo equipment and other elements used in illegal operations.
The presentation took place during the panel "From the Caribbean to the Andes: regulatory advances in the region," which also featured Yamile Gutiérrez, representative of G&G Studio Legal, and Adams Pérez, Director of Compliance for the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission.
