Bakker brings leadership experience and will oversee key strategic financial and risk decisions

Ageeth Bakker has been announced as the new Chief Financial and Risk Officer (CFRO) of the Nederlandse Loterij.

Indeed, this latest appointment falls in the wake of the resignation of the company’s previous CFRO Jet Roos-van in October of 2025. Bakker holds a comprehensive senior leadership background across multiple industries – having spent 13 years with Achma Group working across a variety of management positions including Director of Finance, Risk and Chain Management.

Most recently, she served as CFRO and Board Member of mobility and finance firm Bovemij Group since 2019. Now, she is set to step into this new role on 1 November this year, where she will be tasked with contributing to key strategic board decisions and overseeing financial risk at the lottery operator.

Speaking on her appointment, Bakker stated: "What particularly appeals to me about Nederlandse Loterij is the combination of a strong social mission and a leading position in the gaming sector. With ten trusted brands, Nederlandse Loterij offers players a safe and responsible range of lotteries and online gambling, the proceeds of which benefit society.

“I am happy to contribute to that. I look forward to working with the board and all colleagues to continue to build a successful and future-proof organisation, so that we can continue to increase our social contribution."

In May, Nederlandse Loterij reported an €8m ($9.16m) loss for the full-year 2025 period following tax rises in the Netherlands which, according to the operator, contributed to its financial underperformance.

Also speaking on Bakker’s appointment was Raymond Knops, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Nederlandse Loterij, who said: "The Supervisory Board is pleased to welcome a highly experienced director like Ageeth Bakker as CFRO of Nederlandse Loterij. Her extensive expertise in finance and risk and a career in regulated sectors are a great fit for this board position.

“With the arrival of Ageeth Bakker, the board is at full strength to further realise the strategic ambitions of Nederlandse Loterij, as the most responsible gaming provider and largest driver of sports and exercise."
