FanDuel has launched its Rewards Club feature for sportsbook users, consisting of four levels and an invite-only VIP tier which includes a dedicated account manager, 24/7 support and exclusive events.
“We’ve taken the core formula that made Rewards Club successful, adapted it for a very different product and player journey, and brought it to FanDuel’s huge sports audience,” FanDuel Managing Director of Product Andrew Gradwell said.
“This wasn’t about simply taking a Casino proposition and copying it across. It was about understanding what players valued, keeping what worked and tailoring the experience for Sportsbook. It has taken a huge effort across product, technology, commercial, marketing and operations, and is another example of what you can achieve when you move as one team and hold the bar high.”
Rewards points are determined based on wager size and the odds of the bet placed by respective FanDuel users, while progress is evaluated on a monthly cycle.
FanDuel’s Rewards Club is still in the beta testing phase for sportsbook users, however, and is not yet live to all customers.
The operator states: “Currently, the FanDuel Sportsbook Rewards Club and FanDuel Casino Rewards Club are separate promotions for FanDuel players. As part of the Beta, you may see features change, new functionality added or removed or occasional bugs while the program continues to evolve.”
On July 13, Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper released a statement via social media to address a personalized video sent to FanDuel customer Terry Thompson, who filed a lawsuit against the operator for allegedly taking advantage of his gambling addiction.
On the website Cameo, Harper filmed a 21-second video for Thompson in November 2024, where the Major League Baseball All-Star addresses Thompson – and his son – by name, while the clip is also marked with a FanDuel logo.
Harper shared that he “did not know” the video would be used for commercial purposes, which went “beyond anything I knew about or approved.”
