The Arizona Department of Gaming has reported the state’s total event wagering activity for May 2026, as mobile and retail operators combined to generate $676.7m of handle, representing a decrease of 4.3%.
Mobile betting operations accounted for nearly $673.9m of the state’s total event wagering handle for May, having fallen 4.1% year-over-year, while retail betting produced $2.8m of handle and decreased 39.2%.

How has handle changed over the first five months?
Total revenue for Arizona’s sports betting operators decreased 8.2% to nearly $47.6m, primarily driven by online wagering with $47.5m which equates to a decrease of 7.2%. Retail sports betting operations accounted for just $54,245 of revenue for May, having decreased 90.5%.
FanDuel led all event wagering operators with just over $17.8m of revenue during May, representing a decrease of 14.7%, while DraftKings’ revenue totaled $15.4m and fell 10.8%.
Fanatics Sportsbook accounted for $4.2m of Arizona’s total event wagering revenue and managed to increase 71.5% from the prior year period.
BetMGM produced $3.4m of online event wagering revenue during May and decreased 35.1%, while Caesars reported monthly mobile revenue of $2.2m and rose 3.3%. The two operators also generated $13,400 and $40,845 of retail betting revenue, respectively.

The final operator to cross the $1m threshold for May was bet365, which reported nearly $2.7m of mobile event wagering revenue and increased 74.6%.
The ADG will begin accepting applications for new limited event wagering licenses on August 13, which allow operators to partner with a racetrack or additional wagering facility that maintain a permit issued by the Division of Racing.
According to the Arizona regulator, limited event wagering operations will offer residents retail-style sports betting while at a racetrack or additional wagering facility, with 8% of all revenue produced by the vertical is subject to privilege fees.
Operators looking to secure a limited event wagering license in Arizona must submit completed applications by August 27, which will then be evaluated “in accordance with the established criteria set forth in applicable rules and statutes.”
