Appointed President and CEO by Governor Andy Beshear in 2020, Harville oversaw sales growth of more than $1bn and helped deliver $1.9bn in transfers to the state during her five-year tenure.
Harville reduced operating expenses as a share of sales to a record low of 1.9% and led the organisation through a period of expanding competition from new forms of gaming.
Under her leadership, the Lottery was named a "Best Place to Work in Kentucky" for five consecutive years by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
Her tenure also included the rollout of online lottery sales, which became the company's fastest-growing channel.
According to the Lottery, the internet segment achieved a compounded annual growth rate of over 79% in the past five years.
Harville additionally guided investment in upgraded retail technology across the Lottery's 3,500 retailers, including new terminals and equipment.
The announcement follows a year of increased activity across U.S. lotteries, with states expanding products, channels and promotional campaigns.
Earlier this week, the Illinois Lottery introduced new holiday instant tickets and second-chance promotions, alongside reporting $273m in prize payouts from instant wins during the 2024 holiday season.
Harville, a native of Morganfield and a first-generation college graduate, joined the Lottery in 2004 as SVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.
During her tenure as CEO, she received multiple industry and civic recognitions, including the NASPL Powers Award for leadership.
Governor Beshear has appointed Maggie Garrison, a 14-year Lottery executive currently serving as EVP and Chief Revenue Officer, as the incoming President and CEO. Garrison will assume leadership in February 2026.
