Ahead of the traditional NFL matchups scheduled for Thanksgiving Day on November 27, FanDuel will introduce its new Pass the Leg collaborative parlay feature to help meet a "growing demand" for interactive and communal betting experiences.
"Pass The Leg is all about how our customers actually experience sports - together, sharing excitement and creating memories around the games they love," FanDuel Managing Director of Sportsbook Karol Corcoran said.
"We listened to how fans were already collaborating in group chats and family gatherings, and built a feature that brings that natural social energy directly into their betting experience."
The new Pass the Leg feature allows FanDuel customers to collaborate on a single group parlay, with each participant able to add their own leg prior to wagering individual bets with self-deposited funds.
Pass the Leg requires a minimum of three legs to be included within the group parlay, and allows for up to 25 total legs from each respective group.
The feature will only be available for the matchups scheduled on November 27, which include games between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens.
While FanDuel seems to be enhancing its prop bet offerings for the NFL season, the operator recently agreed to implement a nationwide $200 betting limit on wagers related to individual MLB pitches following charges filed against pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz.
On November 9, Clase and Ortiz were charged for their alleged roles in a gambling scheme focused on whether individual pitches would be thrown for balls or strikes as well as the over/under for speed of certain pitches.
According to the charges, the players received several thousand dollars in payments to help two unidentified bettors from the Dominican Republic win at least $460,000 through live bets.
Such wagers will also be prohibited from being included within parlays as a method of decreasing incentive for manipulation.
FanDuel Sports Network agreed to a new partnership with The Ringer on November 10 to host The Ringer Sunday Pregame and The Ringer Gambling Show on live television beginning November 16
