Pure Casino Entertainment has agreed to join the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) following the approval of its online gambling licence in Alberta, where the operator will help to identify suspicious betting activity and protect players from any form of corruption.

“Launching our online betting operations marks an important milestone for Pure Casino’s iGaming Platform offering in Alberta, and joining IBIA is a key part of our integrity and compliance framework,” Pure Casino CEO Brad Belhouse said.

“Working with IBIA, the leading betting integrity body serving Canada's regulated market, reflects our commitment to protecting customers, safeguarding sporting integrity and supporting a trusted, well-regulated betting environment.”

Currently overseeing seven casino properties in Alberta following its acquisition of Gamehost in June 2026, Pure Casino also represents the province’s largest land-based casino operator.

Alberta – as well as the province of Ontario – requires online sports betting operators to form contractual agreements with an independent integrity monitor (IIM) that was previously approved by regulators.

IBIA CEO Khalid Ali also spoke on Pure Casino’s decision to join the Association, having said, “We are delighted to welcome Pure Casino to IBIA. As Alberta’s largest land-based casino operator, Pure Casino brings significant scale and expertise to our Canadian and global integrity monitoring network.

“Its membership reinforces the integrity framework underpinning Canada’s regulated sports betting market and highlights the value of embedding collaborative integrity monitoring from the outset of a new regulatory regime.”

Alberta launched its new fully regulated online gambling market in July, having seen over 50 licence applications be submitted from operators such as DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, theScore Bet and BetRivers

As recently as June 2026, Boyle Sports also chose to join the IBIA, providing its retail and online sportsbook operations to the Association’s global monitoring network.

Good to know

The IBIA recorded 76 suspicious betting alerts during the second quarter of 2026 and reported the findings to relevant authorities for further investigation on 23 July, covering nine different sports
