Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) has introduced India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) as a payment option for selected online bookings, following a partnership between Fomo Pay and NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL).

The integration allows Indian visitors to use supported UPI banking and payment apps when booking participating experiences through the RWS website. Payments are made in Indian rupees, while the Singapore merchant receives settlement in Singapore dollars.

RWS operates a range of tourism and leisure facilities on Sentosa Island, including Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore Oceanarium, Adventure Cove Waterpark and six hotels. The resort receives more than 17 million visitors annually.

The partnership comes amid substantial travel between India and Singapore. Singapore welcomed 1.2 million Indian visitors in 2025, making India the country's fifth-largest source market.

UPI, developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has more than 550 million active users and processes over 24 billion transactions per month. NIPL was established in 2020 as NPCI's international subsidiary and is responsible for expanding UPI and RuPay into overseas markets.

FOMO Pay will provide the payment infrastructure connecting UPI with participating Singapore merchants. The Singapore-headquartered company provides payment services across multiple currencies and payment networks.

The agreement adds to efforts to extend UPI acceptance outside India as NIPL works with payment providers and merchants in international markets. For Singapore businesses, the arrangement provides another payment option for Indian consumers visiting or making purchases in the country.
