The Mississippi Gaming Commission has reported the state’s total casino activity for August 2026 – as well as retail sports betting – with commercial properties generating $201.4m of revenue, representing a decrease of 6.5%.
Mississippi’s gaming regulator reported a slot machine revenue decrease of 5.4% year-over-year to just over $167.6m for August, while table game revenue in the state fell 7.9% to $28.6m.
Commercial casinos located in the Coastal region generated the most revenue during August but decreased 4.6% to $135.7m. The Central and Northern regions reported $24.8m and $41m of casino revenue, respectively, falling 11.2% and 8.6% for August.
The Coastal region reported a loss in slot machine revenue of 2.4% to $113.1m, as table game revenue decreased 11.3% to $20.4m. Northern region casinos produced $32.9m of slot machine revenue but fell 12.8%, while table game revenue managed to increase 2.3% to $6m.

In the Central region, commercial casinos combined to generate $21.5m of slot machine revenue for a decrease of 8.6%, with table game revenue increasing 1.7% to $2m.
For retail sports betting, the state’s revenue decreased 15.8% to just over $2.1m, while the Mississippi Gaming Commission also reported a 35.8% fall in total handle during August to nearly $14.1m.
The Coastal region once again led Mississippi jurisdictions with $1.2m of retail sports betting revenue, although the total still equates to a decrease of 21.3%. The Central and Northern regions generated $574,659 and $302,090 of retail sports betting revenues, respectively, decreasing 2.4% and 11.1%.
In February, Island View Casino Resort went live with IGT’s PlaySports retail sports betting technology, enabling patrons at both Island View and Beach View Casino Resorts in Gulfport, Mississippi, to place in-person sports wagers using a combination of staffed counters and self-service kiosks.
Under the deployment, Island View utilizes the IGT PlaySports platform to offer a range of sports betting markets across its two casino properties.
