Sports Toto and its partners have concluded a public content contest aimed at raising awareness of gambling-related harm and the risks associated with illegal gambling in South Korea.

Korea Sports Leisure, the trustee of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation-issued Sports Toto lottery, held the awards ceremony in Seoul alongside the KSPO and Seoul Namdaemun Police Station.

The 2026 Sports Promotion Lottery Gambling Problem Prevention Content Contest invited members of the public to create material exploring gambling prevention, recovery and responsible participation in sports leisure activities.

A total of 107 entries were submitted between July 20 and August 23, comprising 44 short-form videos and 63 personal accounts. Entries were assessed based on factors including relevance to the theme, creativity and effectiveness in communicating their messages.

Judges selected 15 winners across three categories, including three youth short-form videos, six general short-form videos and six general testimonials.

Jeong Hyun-jun received the grand prize in the youth short-form category for a video centered on avoiding gambling from the outset, while Cho Gyu-dae won the general short-form grand prize with content encouraging viewers to focus on personal goals rather than gambling.

Six testimonials addressing experiences with gambling problems, recovery and the importance of prevention were also recognized with excellence awards.

The contest carried total prize money of KRW13.3m, including KRW2m for the general short-form grand prize and KRW1.5m for the youth short-form winner.

The awards program also included a youth gambling prevention quiz and screenings of selected videos.

Winning entries are expected to be published on the participating organizations' websites and social media channels. The content will also be used in future gambling prevention education and public awareness campaigns.
