The consulting firm will focus on risks posed by illegal operators

The former Gambling Commission Executive Director, Tim Miller, has announced the launch of his own consulting agency: GamReg Consulting.

According to the new company's press release, the agency is focused on navigating the risks posed by unauthorised gambling operators.

"Regulators everywhere are dealing with fast-moving markets alongside heightened expectations.

"They need practical, credible approaches that keep players safe while supporting a compelling consumer offer," Miller stated.

Miller served as the Executive of the Gambling Commission in the UK for more than a decade and was a member of the board of directors for the Gambling Regulators European Forum (GREF) for almost five years.

During his tenure, Miller played a pivotal role in steering the regulation of the gambling market during the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the height of the outbreak, Miller tracked online engagement, noting the rapid shift in players' behaviour.

Speaking at the Betting and Gaming Council's (BGC) Annual General Meeting (AGM), Miller noted the increased complexity of the Commission's work over the years and how the best way to tackle illegal operators is by understanding why players move to unregulated spaces.

Furthermore, in his opening address, he bid farewell to former CEO Andrew Rhodes, who has now been appointed as Principal Consultant at Hawkbridge, the international strategic advisory firm.

Following his departure from GREF, the forum named Ian Angus as Treasurer and Olivia Petit as Secretary.

Rhodes, former CEO of the Gambling Commission, resigned from his position back in April 2026 and also made the jump to the private sector
