MGM Resorts International has launched its first-ever beachfront BetMGM sportsbook location at the Tailgate Beach Club attached to Mandalay Bay, having converted one of the 23 cabanas currently offered at the sports-focused site.

“Tailgate Beach Club has quickly become one of the most exciting places in Las Vegas to watch live sports, and the addition of the BetMGM Sportsbook gives fans another way to get in on the action,” BetMGM CRO Matt Prevost said.

“As more people travel to Las Vegas for marquee sporting events, we’re focused on creating unique experiences that bring together sports, entertainment and betting.”

Guests are eligible to place wagers at an in-person outdoor betting window constructed within the cabana space, while Tailgate Beach Club also offers 145 ft of LED television screens.

While Tailgate Beach Club represents the operator’s first beachfront site, BetMGM currently operates 10 retail sportsbook locations across MGM Resorts-owned properties on the Las Vegas Strip.

Ahead of the 2026-2027 football season, BetMGM introduced new enhancements to its sportsbook product, including expanded cash out features, betting insights, a rewards hub and improved live betting and bet building experiences.

The rewards hub will allow BetMGM users to access promotions and rewards information, as well as track their respective tier status and manage program benefits across the operator’s broader ecosystem.

In additional news, People Incorporated withdrew its potential $18bn takeover bid of MGM Resorts on September 23 – as confirmed by the operator’s Board of Directors.

The deal would have taken MGM Resorts private, increasing a gaming industry trend of private capital taking over some of its biggest operators.

People Inc originally proposed the takeover bid on June 1, seeking to acquire all public shares of MGM Resorts. The operator confirmed a “special committee” was formed to participate in negotiations with People Inc to “advance the interests of its shareholders.”
