PrizePicks has appointed former Uber executive Nick Zabriskie as its new SVP of Public Affairs, where he will now oversee national government affairs and advocacy efforts for the sports betting operator.
"Adding a seasoned veteran like Nick is a testament to PrizePicks' exceptional growth and market presence," PrizePicks Chief Legal Officer and Head of Public Policy Jason Barclay said.
"Nick is the perfect person to lead our public affairs efforts for PrizePicks' next chapter of innovation. His reputation for ingenuity, integrity and transparency are the values upon which our advocacy and public policy strategies are built."
Zabriskie was one of the earliest members of Uber's policy team, helping to shape the company's public affair strategies while serving as Head of Marketplace Policy, Head of Policy for Self-Driving initiatives and in roles on the Work and Economic Policy team.
Notable initiatives led by Zabriskie include supporting state and local laws which helped expand UberX and ridesharing, reduce drunk driving and generate economic opportunity.
"I am thrilled to build upon the inroads that the PrizePicks team has made these past several years," Zabriskie said.
"The team has done an incredible job of creating innovative products and putting customers at the forefront, delivering the ultimate sports entertainment experience. PrizePicks has a huge opportunity ahead to serve even more people while maintaining the highest standards of player protection and compliance."
On July 9, PrizePicks appointed Todd Grossman to Director of Gaming Regulatory Compliance in an effort to strengthen its legal and compliance leadership team while continuing to expand its daily fantasy sports offering across the US.
Grossman began driving compliance strategy across all jurisdictions, ensuring "operational excellence in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape" while also supporting the operator's long-term growth and licensure objectives.
PrizePicks debuted a new early exit feature on November 4, allowing bettors to cash out of their respective PrizePicks lineups before the involved matchups have officially concluded
