BC Game has appointed Ali “Ako” Muhanned as the operator’s new CEO, replacing former Chief Executive Kar Kheng Giam who originally took over the position in April 2026.
“For me, this is the next step in a business I’ve been deeply involved in for years. Much of my work has happened behind the scenes, working with our people, developing relationships and helping shape where BC Game goes next,” Muhanned said.
“Now I want our community to have a more direct connection with me and a clearer understanding of what we’re building.”
While BC Game failed to address Giam’s departure from the CEO role, the operator confirmed the transition will move Muhanned into a "more public role" as he leads its next phase of development.
Giam's appointment was met with uncertainty, however, given much of the industry was unfamiliar with his experience prior to joining BC Game. With a lack of history surrounding Muhanned as well, perhaps more hesitance will be placed upon the new Chief Executive.
According to BC Game, Muhanned has helped develop the operator’s presence across regulated markets through his work in brand strategy and international partnerships.
Despite such claims, though, Muhanned's only listed experience is his additional role as CEO of Kera Media, which he has maintained since September 2023.
Muhanned’s focus as BC Game CEO will be on strengthening player trust, improving platform experience and guiding international growth, having also committed to holding monthly interview sessions, creating a dedicated escalation channel and providing public progress reports.
Continuing to speak on his appointment, Muhanned said: “I’ve cared deeply about BC Game since it was founded when I was 19. It has always been about thinking beyond the next campaign or announcement.
“It’s about making decisions we can stand behind, building a strong team and delivering an experience that gives players a reason to stay with us. My commitment to that has been there for a long time.
“We have a clear ambition for BC Game, and I want our players and our team to understand where we’re going. My responsibility is to turn that ambition into consistent progress in the product, in how we respond to problems and in the standards we set across the business.”
During the monthly live interview sessions, Muhanned will answer questions directly from players, discuss BC Game’s current priorities and share updates on the operator’s business strategy.
Given there was even speculation that Giam was an AI creation, the live monthly meetings could be a way for BC Game to avoid such concerns about Muhanned.
BC Game launched in Nigeria on 13 April after securing a sports betting and casino licence from the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority, extending the operator’s presence in Africa
